My work is grounded in the belief that meaningful change begins with an understanding of the emotional and unconscious patterns that shape our relationships, behaviours, and inner experiences. My main modality is Schema Therapy, an integrative approach drawing on CBT, psychodynamic, Gestalt, constructivist, and attachment models. Sometimes, I combine Schema Therapy with Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT), Trauma Treatment and Mindfulness.

My interest in counselling and psychotherapy started when I wrote my MTh thesis on 'Pastoral Care and the Postmodern Self' at Cardiff University in 1999. After that, I studied psychology and received a Master's degree in Psychology, specialising in Psychotherapy and Crisis Intervention. My research focused on 'Basic hope and perseverance in psychotherapy'. I have had the advantage of working in a psychiatric hospital with a multidisciplinary team specialising in addiction, co-addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma, and personality disorders. Working there, I developed my individual and group psychotherapy skills. I also learnt how to use the interpersonal approach to psychotherapy while combining it with CBT, Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Trauma Treatment. The integrative approach to psychotherapy, where every individual's needs are respected, still is my preferred mode of working. I began my private practice in 2007. Soon after that, I joined a team of skilful professionals with whom I had a common interest in Schema Therapy. Since then, I have been developing in Schema Therapy, Trauma Treatment, Supervision and Neuropsychoanalysis.
