Therapists
Hello, I'm Adriana, an MBACP qualified counsellor and psychotherapist. Helping clients to find meaning, purpose and a stronger sense of self in their world is essential to my work as a therapist. I consider it a privilege to be part of the process of self-discovery and reconstruction in others. I work in Chiswick (W4) and Richmond (TW9), seeing individuals and couples ONLINE and in person. I have worked with individuals suffering from anxiety, stress, panic attacks, depression, bereavement, relationship issues, suicide, addiction, eating disorders, sleep disorders, sexual abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), cancer, obsessional behaviour, self-harm, learning disabilities, HIV, agoraphobia, infertility, menopause, pregnancy related issues, amongst others. We work together to identify ways to come to terms with clients' personal struggles and past experiences, moving towards more sophisticated patterns of thinking, feeling and being. I have worked with couples for many years, supporting them in exploring the negative cycles within their relationships and the difficulties that often arise from them. Together, we examine how they connect, how they manage conflict, and how they repair after rupture. The work provides a space for both partners to understand the deeper dynamics at play in their relationship. The process is progressive and, sometimes painful. Trust is built gradually within a safe and supportive environment where emotions and struggles can be openly explored. www.wlchiswickcounselling.co.uk
I work integratively drawing from psychoanalytic, person centred and existential approaches. I have worked in the field of counselling and psychotherapy for several years in London and abroad for a number of organisations including Westminster Mind, Cruse Bereavement and the NHS IAPT service. “Helping clients to find meaning, purpose and a stronger sense of self in their world is an important part of my work as a therapist. I consider a privilege to be part of the process of self-discovery and reconstruction in others, assisting them to identify ways to become more creative with their lives and moving to more sophisticated patterns of thinking, feeling and being”.
I have trained in Existential Counselling & Psychotherapy and in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. Additionally I have done specialist training in Bereavement Counselling, Panic Attacks Treatment, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I have a breadth of experience working with life transitions such as young adulthood (16-18), motherhood, mid-life, loss & bereavement - supporting individuals to process and overcome feelings of despair and anxiety from these changes in life.
