Therapists
My name is Jinny Gupta (UKCP, MBACP) and I am a psychotherapist with a private practice in West London (Chiswick), offering therapy to adults both online and in-person. I have a special interest in working with individuals suffering from anxiety, depression and issues concerning relationships, work and spirituality. Our work will involve exploring the issue/s that brings you to therapy and help you deepen your understanding of your dilemma. You might find new ways of understanding your life, and uncover possibilities that you may not have known before. As your therapist, I bring forward a way of working with you that suits your unique strengths and capabilities in the world. It is my hope that, throughout our work, you are felt deeply listened to and understood in order that you can do the same for yourself. I offer a space which is open, non-judgemental, empathic and through the tools of curiosity and compassion, we undertake a process of exploration and discovery.
I offer a safe, non-judgmental and confidential environment, where we can work together to explore your personal issues and understand them in a deeper way. I believe that therapy can be empowering, healing and transformative, and I work collaboratively with my clients to help them find their own answers and create lasting change. Together, we will explore your inner world and work towards creating a life that is meaningful, fulfilling, and joyful. I combine evidence-based techniques with more creative, experiential methods, such as mindfulness and meditation to help individuals gain clarity and insight into their issues. The philosophies and theories that guide my practice include Gestalt and Existential approaches, Jungian Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The clients who have worked successfully with me arrive with a host of issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma (PTSD), bereavement, or have faced issues concerning identity, cultural adaptation, meaning and life transitions. They have noticed experiencing unpleasant feelings and thoughts, and have sometimes acted on these in terms of behaviours which they would like to look at and change.
I completed my training at Regent's University, London, with a distinction in UKCP accredited Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy (ADIP). In addition to running a private practice, I provide clinical supervision to trainee psychotherapists at Headstrong Counselling in London. I also offer therapeutic support to NHS and frontline workers. I trained as a Mindfulness and Meditation teacher (in the Rinzai Zen tradition through Zenways), and offer courses tailored to needs and specificities of the individual and group. In the past, I have worked in various mental-health settings such as West London NHS Trust (WLNT), MIND-Hammersmith and Fulham, Ealing Abbey Counselling Service (EACS) and West London Centre for Counselling (WLCC). Prior to this, I worked as an Economist and Healthcare advisor for more than a decade with the government and private sectors in India, Malawi and Iceland. I am a registered member of BACP and UKCP.
