I’m a Yorkshire born, Newcastle trained Clinical Psychologist living and practicing in South London. A quote I find myself coming back to is ‘shame dies when stories are told in safe places’. We all have our own unique story and the essence of the therapy I offer is to create a safe space for your story to be told and heard so that, together, we are able to make sense of how you have come to reach where you are in your life and what might be getting in the way of you reaching where you would like to be. My ethos is that with even the most profound and distressing psychological difficulties - at some level it all makes sense. I value authenticity, collaboration and transparency in my work - psychology is not a mystical and enigmatic process and I will always share my thinking with you.

I am trained to deliver Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Attachment focused work. I apply these models in a way that is integrative and person centred to suit the needs of my clients and what makes the most sense to them and the difficulties they are facing. I will work with any age client with a variety of difficulties provided that we feel that we are well matched to work together. If you or I feel I am not the best person for you then I will endeavour to recommend another therapist who may have more specialist expertise in what you are experiencing or may just be a better match in personality or style.

I am privileged enough to have spent almost 10 years working in the NHS hearing the stories of individuals of all ages and backgrounds. I started working with children and young people and over the years have worked on inpatient units, in the community, with schools, with care homes and older adults with dementia and adults with intellectual disabilities and autism. My part time NHS role is currently with children and young people and focused on improving mental health in schools. I am accredited by the Health Care and Professions Council and can be found in their directory of accredited Psychologists.
