BSc (Hons) Psychology, PG Diplomas in Relationship Counselling and Psychotherapy. FCIPD
I have always held a strong curiosity about people and their behaviours. Having started early in my career in a leadership and development role where I coached individuals/leaders I was interested in what got in the way of individuals achieving their full potential. I decide to expand my knowledge by completing my psychology degree and various other psychotherapy training. I then combined my skills as an Executive Coach and Psychotherapist as this played to my strengths and my motivation and have specialised in that over the last 12+ years.
As an integrative psychotherapist I believe that different approaches are needed to deal with the individual needs of my client - as one size does not fit all. I see integration as coming from a person-centred position whilst using trauma and attachment theory to underpin the work I do. I have worked with many complex mental health issues that have included areas such as, depression, anxiety, stress and trauma, personality disorders, bereavement and loss amongst others. I am trained in CBT and EMDR that deals with specific issues and trauma. I am also a trained psychodynamic psychotherapist and relationship therapist using Emotional Focussed Therapy for couples.
I have worked as a relationship counsellor and psychotherapist for the last 20 years and set-up my own practice over 12 years ago. I continually keep update on my own development and training and have many post-graduate diplomas and certificates in counselling, psychotherapy and coaching. I am currently completing my Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy. I am an accredited Psychotherapist with the UKCP and BACP and an Executive Coach with the Association for Coaching and a Fellow with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
