I was born and raised in Moscow and moved to the United States at the age of twenty in search of better opportunities. Upon graduating from university I joined the booming financial services industry, however, after a while I started noticing that I was more interested in people than in financial markets or instruments, so after seven years I moved to France to get my MBA at INSEAD to help me switch to a more people focussed profession. In 2004 I moved to the UK and started working in Human Resources, the profession which allowed me to address the human aspects of work and to support people along their work journeys. I have always loved listening to people’s stories and finding ways to help, so I decided to study psychotherapy in order to be able to understand others and myself better and learn how to help people at a deeper, more personal level. I received Master’s Degree (Distinction) and Post-Graduate Certificate in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling from Regent’s University, London. Today alongside working in a senior role in HR, I also work as an integrative therapist, meaning that I draw on a wide range of theories and practices to inform how I work with my clients (as opposed to using a single approach). I work with clients with a wide range of issues, including stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, life transitions, work and career issues, identity, life purpose, relationships and sexual issues, low self-esteem, ‘imposter’ syndrome, addictions, trauma, bereavement, amongst others. It is a privilege to be someone people trust and open up to, and I find incredible purpose and fulfilment in being able to help people to, using Nitzsche’s words, become who they are.

Every client and their situation are wholly unique, and I will work with each client in a bespoke way, tailoring my approach to your needs and therapy goals. This may include working to understand your past and how this influenced your thought and behavioural patterns, exploring your current life situation and working on a particular area, be that your important relationships, career or health, and helping you to find tools to cope with a specific challenge you may be faced with. Usually therapy work touches upon past, present and future, and includes a combination of topics, approaches, focal points and tools. I tend to work in a solutions-focused way, equally, I believe that there is value in reflection, gaining self-awareness and connecting to our true selves. We will work together on making the changes you would like to see (and on accepting what is). Ultimately, therapy is about developing new perspectives and behaviours which will enable you to be more adaptive, resilient and lead a more meaningful, balanced and fulfilling life. I attend regular professional supervision and abide by the ethical codes of my accrediting organisations. I offer a complimentary introductory telephone or online consultation of up to 30 minutes to discuss your concerns and how we can work together to address them. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and decide if I am the right therapist for you. You can find out more about me and the way I work on my website www.tktherapy.co.uk.

I have 25 years of corporate experience in industries such as financial services, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and professional services which means that I understand challenges and pressures of the professional and corporate life and the importance of work relationships. I work with a wide variety of issues (see About Me); however, my niche is working with people who work in demanding, fast-paced jobs helping them navigate work environments and balance this with personal life, responsibilities and interests outside of work. My professional experience, including working extensively in the HR function, combined with my psychotherapy training, has helped me gain an insight into how our psychological makeup and past experiences influence how we behave at work and develop skills to help my clients resolve current difficulties, achieve career and life goals and contribute to their fullest potential. My Education includes Master’s Degree (Dist.) in Psychotherapy and Counselling from Regent’s University London; Post-Graduate Certificate in Psychotherapy and Counselling from Regent’s University London; MBA from INSEAD, France/Singapore; and BSc in Economics from Montclair State University, USA. I am a member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and a registered member of British Association for Psychotherapy (BACP).
