The Schools Initiative Children express their inner world through play. So, I work in partnership with schools and families in a systemic way to create an environment that fosters dimensional growth. *Play based therapy which takes place in the school. *Termly/midway written reports with recommendations for school and home. The Home Initiative Working within the home or therapy room to help parents and children build better relationships through attachment-based play that supports the four dimensions needed for strong attachment. *Structure *Engagement *Nurture *Challenge. Used for: Detachment caused by pre- or post-natal depression Adoption Separation due to a range of loss Displaced children and families The Parenting Initiative Are you struggling with accepting and understanding how a diagnosis of your child has changed your world? Are you seeking to understand your child’s developmental stages? Want to discuss how your child views the world, how they are presenting in school, home or in society. The Parent Initiative offers a space to reflect and review, under the guide of a specialist who has both firm knowledge of children at all their developmental stages and of psychological theories that can help to give you a different perspective on parenting. My professional career working with children, young people and their families span over 20 years. In my previous role as Head of a Nursery school and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENDCO) I worked in partnership with local authorities, the NHS and Private Sector to help Children, Young People and their families gain the additional support needed to overcome difficulty. In my current role as Therapy Team Manager and Complex Case Therapist, I manage a whole school therapeutic service as well as offering short- and long-term complex case therapy to primary aged children, whilst guiding parents and teachers. My work in the field of Youth Justice allows me to consider the impact society sometimes plays in shaping negative experiences for some young people and their families who live in the most financially deprived areas, with this understanding I work directly in the community to bring change and challenge inequality. Being Interculturally trained, my theoretical approach embraces the richness of difference and diversity as I lean into the protective factors that the wealth of the individuals culture brings in order to foster a stronger sense of self-worth, healing, and growth.
